Promise, The (TV Series) (2011): Watch the last 30 minutes first....because it actually helps you understand the beginning.....rnIt is extremely well done........check out that wall!
World Without End (TV Series) (2012): Very TVish but pretty accurate wrt the black death, and the missing..murdered? King, and how people lived in England.
Upstairs, Downstairs (TV Series) (2010): A wonderful watch...check out Prince George on the dance floor!
John Adams (2008): Extremely well put together...its American but not the normal dramatic American stuff....And I think it is pretty historically accurate.
El Bulli - Cooking in Progress (2011): watch this while also scanning El Bullis\'s website...these guys went down with the Spanish economy....once you know this...you have to wonder at the way they were running the place....it turns into a commedy, and an example of how not to run a business
Sarah's Key (2010): I am looking forward to Sarah\'s Key part 2...when William gets his Paris apartment and 60 years of owed rent returned....thought provoking stuff
Stephen Poliakoff's Gideon's Daughter & Friends and Crocodiles (2005): Gideon\'s Daughter....the best video in Aro Video wrt capturing the raw pain of coping with death.
Glorious 39 (2009): Quality acting...but not much depth to the plot...the changing values of the family members is very real.; DVD ~~$29.95~~ $19.95
Behaving Badly (TV mini-series) (1989): Perfect dry english humor...wonderful stuff...it is not really bad bahaviour......quality acting too.
Emperor's New Clothes (2001): Wonderful dry humor...French history seen through English eyes!
La Luna (1979): This is fabulous stuff.....its good because you feel the love scenes taking off when you know they should not be...and they hide the straight forward plot taking place underneath. How movies should be made.
1900 (Novecento) (1976): Visually it would be the most beautiful film I have ever watched..wrt... use of colour and no clutter.rnPolitically a wonderful way to learn about communism, socialism, fascism...& the enduring feudalism system.
Conformist, The (Conformista, Il) (1970): it 100% captures the enormous sexual frustruation of gay folks conforming to \"fit in\"....(wedding,wife, & baby production included!)....& then the career move into Fascism.... . Brillante artistic stuff ...beautifully done..like Felini...less is mor
Best of Youth, The (La Meglio gioventù) (2003)
I Am Love (Io sono l'amore) (2009): Worth watching if you are about to or have visited Milano...and enjoy a good laugh watching 1st class trash wrt the plot! Completely unrealistic...just pure rubbish!
World's Greenest Homes (TV Series) (2008): Better than Grand Design..focusing only on the final home designs...Not just about energy savings, but explains why certain designs are easy to live in..you could save $000,0000's at Bunnings by watching this...check out the Swedish Hunting Lodge!
Six Feet Under - Season 1 (TV Series) (2001): It is brillante becuase it is completley realistic wrt how humans behave.
Bright Star (2009): Jane Campions film is refreshing and realistic . wrt the story itself.....the whole thing screams of Mr Brown and Fanny....but..Mr Keats poems did improve! Best scenes" Keats highland fling 10/10, Mr Browns suitcase brown eyes, the choir, Fanny's sewing; DVD ~~$24.95~~ $18.70
Aria (1987): How opera should be...shown today. Clever use of the "car theme" throughout. Best one....the kids stealing the car.
