InnocenceInnocence (2004)Aro Favourite
4 stars (Very Good) The photography both in light and dark was top rate and created alternately stunning visuals and then a sinister atmosphere. The material was fresh and I don't know how much coaching the kids playing the lead characters required but all were good.
Snow Angels Snow Angels (2007)
3 stars (Good Enough) An uplifting drama about winter, breakup, and loss.
Churchill: The Hollywood YearsChurchill: The Hollywood Years (2004)
3 stars (Good Enough) A mishmash of a cast but they only add to the interesting confusion of the screenplay.
SabrinaSabrina (1954)
3 stars (Good Enough) The screenplay is undemanding but well written, but the strength is in the casting of Audrey playing a young romantic with Bogart and Holden the old(er) men. Nothing wrong with the support casting either.
Electric Horseman, TheElectric Horseman, The (1979)
2 stars (Good Try) An excellent director and there is nothing wrong with the casting but the screenplay just meanders.
Deadly Companions, TheDeadly Companions, The (1961)
2 stars (Good Try) Not for the first time in a screenplay is Maureen fighting off men (I don't know why). The screenplay is at its best until the inevitable happens.
Tank GirlTank Girl (1995)Recommended
4 stars (Very Good) Lori is terrific, and during the screenplay, anything goes and usually does.
Harsh TimesHarsh Times (2005)
2 stars (Good Try) Quickly forgettable.
DeathdreamDeathdream (Dead of Night) (1972)Recommended
3 stars (Good Enough) A very good plot idea and well written.
And Soon the DarknessAnd Soon the Darkness (1970)
2 stars (Good Try) Not great but it has some genuinely suspenseful moments and maybe worth a try.
