Secret Mission (1942)
There is some interest in the younger versions of a talented cast but the screenplay has not weathered very well.
Trip to Bountiful, The (1985)
If nothing else the time and place has been captured admirably.
Ice Storm, The (1997)
Even quality performers Sigourney Weaver and Joan Allen can't spark any life into this – although if Allison Janney had more to do things might have been different. However, young Christina Ricci does save the day somewhat.
Blithe Spirit (1945)
A delightful screenplay with Margaret Rutherford stealing every scene she is in.
Moon is Blue, The (1953)
It plays like a play with most of the movement coming from the lips. Maggie McNamara provides most of the interest as she has not been overexposed on the big screen.
Othello (1952)
Great positioning of the camera and the use of lighting.
Pierrot Le Fou (Crazy Pete) (1965)
A free wheeling but uneven screenplay. Some of its segments do not work so well 50 years on but it is still mostly an interesting watch.
Blow (2001)
It barely causes a ripple.
Hopscotch (1980)
Not the strongest of comedic screenplays but with all due respect to the rest of a pretty useful cast it would have fallen flat on its face without Walter Matthau.
Keeper, The (Trautmann) (2018)
Although it is a commercial offering it is a good story and the production values are worthy of attention.
