Old Boy (Oldboy) (2004): 4/5 – Original Title – "Oldeuboi" – Master piece which does not seem to get old. Music, decor, script, not a wrinkle.
Jar City (Mýrin) (2006): 3/5 – Original Title: "Mýrin" – Superb dark thriller. A bit confusing due to the Icelandic names, but engaging.
Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941): – VHS
Girl by the Lake, The (La ragazza del lago) (2007): – Original titles: "La ragazza del lago" (4/5) and "Tutta la vita davanti" (3/5)
Utamaro and His Five Women (1946): 3/5 – Original Title: " Utamaro o meguru gonin no onna" – Very dense story, although not easy to follow,
Fermat's Room (La Habitación de Fermat) (2007): 3/5 – Original title: "La habitación de Fermat" – enjoy the puzzle solvings, the surprises, but don't be put off by the poor special effects.
Marshland (2014): 3/5 – Original title: "La isla mínima" – Highly engaging crime thriller.
Bullet Vanishes, The (2012): 2/5 – Original title: "Xiao shi de zi dan" – Unassuming and funny.
I'm Still Here (Ainda Estou Aqui) (2024): 4/5 – Excellent tapestry of this Carioca family on a background of military dictature.
Ratcatcher (1999): 3/5 – A bit surreal but very well filmed. Subtitles would help with the scottish accent.
