Mabo (Mabo: Life of an Island Man) (1997): Extremely important story in the fight for aboriginal rights.
Chinatown (1974): Excellent story telling about an incompetent detective who opens up a can of worms. The pace of the film is just right and doesn\'t get sidetracked with unnecessary subplots. The photography and props are impressive. Excellent ending.
Rogue Trader (1998): McGregor is not Spacey but does a reasonable job. A good insight.
Funhouse, The (1981): Most of the scary moments are routine but the last segment is well worth the wait.
On the Nose (2002): Some good moments but not up to the standard of normal Irish fare.
Unknown (2006): Would have been better with less violence which was a distraction to the story.
Red Lights (2012): Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Sigourney is written out early in the film and its left to Murphy to carry things. He is awful in this one.
Hetty Wainthropp Investigates (TV Series) (1996): Series 2: Excellent props and each episode has good supporting actors.; DVD $24.95, $59.95
Magnificent Butcher (Lin shi rong) (1979): The action rarely pauses – when it does there are some good comedic moments – the choreography is impressive.
Love Butcher, The (1982): I think that all its faults deliberate or otherwise should give this film a permanent place in the cult library.
