MaboMabo (Mabo: Life of an Island Man) (1997)
3 stars (Good Enough) Extremely important story in the fight for aboriginal rights.
ChinatownChinatown (1974)Aro Favourite
4 stars (Very Good) Excellent story telling about an incompetent detective who opens up a can of worms. The pace of the film is just right and doesn\'t get sidetracked with unnecessary subplots. The photography and props are impressive. Excellent ending.
Rogue TraderRogue Trader (1998)Recommended
3 stars (Good Enough) McGregor is not Spacey but does a reasonable job. A good insight.
Funhouse, TheFunhouse, The (1981)
3 stars (Good Enough) Most of the scary moments are routine but the last segment is well worth the wait.
On the NoseOn the Nose (2002)
2 stars (Good Try) Some good moments but not up to the standard of normal Irish fare.
UnknownUnknown (2006)
2 stars (Good Try) Would have been better with less violence which was a distraction to the story.
Red LightsRed Lights (2012)
2 stars (Good Try) Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Sigourney is written out early in the film and its left to Murphy to carry things. He is awful in this one.
Hetty Wainthropp Investigates (TV Series)Hetty Wainthropp Investigates (TV Series) (1996)
3 stars (Good Enough) Series 2: Excellent props and each episode has good supporting actors.
DVD $24.95, $59.95
Magnificent ButcherMagnificent Butcher (Lin shi rong) (1979)
3 stars (Good Enough) The action rarely pauses – when it does there are some good comedic moments – the choreography is impressive.
Love Butcher, TheLove Butcher, The (1982)
3 stars (Good Enough) I think that all its faults deliberate or otherwise should give this film a permanent place in the cult library.
