Oklahoma! (1955)
Top songs delivered beautifully. Timeless musical.
Show Boat (1951)
Top songs delivered beautifully. Timeless musical.
Retreat (2011)
As portrayed the plot is not really convincing. Some excellent location shooting. Bell is annoying in this one.
Darkness in Tallinn (1993)
A bleak comedy based upon an excellent premise.
Sex and the City - The Movie (2008)
Its hard to make characters depicting the well off interesting beyond a few minutes – the minimum would be a strong script. I don't know how much they paid the humping dog but I got sick of the sight of it. My comedy tastes are higher than that.
Just Like Heaven (2005)
Plot premise seems a bit familiar. The two leads have been in and deserve much better.
Day of the Triffids (TV Mini-Series) (2009)
Good casting with Brian Cox not playing a triffid. The visuals are very good and are based on one of Sci Fi's legendary stories.
When Night Is Falling (1995)
The small cast is terrific with Don McKellar being the icing on the cake. The music is perfect. The Director/writer uses imaginative scene sets and creates an appropriate atmosphere. Those hard to please critics at "Time Out" like it so it must be good.
Jack Brown Genius (1994)
A curiosity of local film making that deserves to be watched particularly by a Wellington audience. At least its different.
Queen Bee (1955)
An actor's film. Joan at her bitchy best.
