Aroview: Lavish technicolor adaptation of the 1920 Hammerstein stage musical in which an aspiring actor goes from working a Mississippi river-boat to seeing her name in lights in the big city.

Measurably fewer original elements than Universal Studios' 1936 predecessor, with much of Hammerstein's dialogue replaced including fewer old-timey sight gags. Great songs incl. 'Old Man River'.
