Aroview: A faithful adaptation of Oscar Hammerstein's 1920's stage musical covering four decades as an aspiring actor goes from working a Mississippi river-boat to hitting the big time.

Offering greater period authenticity and a more complex depiction of Black America than the better-known technicolour MGM version from 1951, this black-and-white version is widely considered to be superior.
