It goes without saying that the concert is excellent but what I found also interesting was the behind the scenes introduction – the Stones at ease in the flesh but under layers of makeup.
Although the dialogue is for the most part snappy the unending bickering and immature behaviour of the lead characters makes the story telling drag somewhat. One big plus is the black and white photography.
Denzel is very good as per usual and Ethan does well to keep on his coat tails. The story/character relationship is at its strongest in the early scenes but weakens somewhat as the day gets longer.
The production values in set designs and wardrobe are very good but are repaid by a mundane and at times laughable script – this in turn casts doubt on what really did go on with the real life characters on which the plot is based.
