These based on true events personal dramas are usually wishy washy but this one has a good screenplay and a more than talented leading cast in Moore,Page and Shannon that makes all the difference.
Very uneven – I have never seen Grant so poor and its on him that the film rests despite a stellar support cast in Atkins, Dench, and McKellen.rnThe screenplay is very frothy so it doesn't need this talent anyway I guess.
The story makes it hard to distinguish who are the criminals and who are just doing their job – lobbyists, financiers and politicians – or whether in fact there is any difference at all in some cases. Spacey makes an unattractive character very watchable.
Very stylised – well done to the set designers and the choice of colours by the photography department. Glover and Ermey are good and whilst this is a remake the story in itself has enough originality to maintain interest.
One good scene – the animal cesspit and one good character – the animal cesspit worker. The rest of the characters can be found in umpteen other teen horror films but the basic story still stands up well.
