There is some great photography, a wonderful soundtrack and a good lead performance but at the end of the day the screenplay doesn't hold the attention even with his odd choice of girlfriends.
The use of animation greatly assists this story of growing up and living in Iran by sharpening its satirical edge. The story has two memorable characters in the revolutionary child and the ageless grandmother.
An entertaining foreign ramble by I believe a lower key than normal (older) Michael Moore. Its not hard hitting but he raises to some good comparisons with his homeland.
