I Know You Know

Aroview: Grim British drama focused on the volatile Charlie (Carlyle), an undercover spy working for a shadowy agency, and the fiercely protective relationship he has with his young son Jamie (Fuller).

The second feature from dir. Kerrigan (HUMAN TRAFFIC) suffers from a muddled grasp of perspective, and although the 'twist' is clearly signposted from the outset, we are left adrift until the crucial midway point when it firmly becomes Jamie's story. An obviously personal film for Kerrigan (it's dedicated to his father) there's enough emotional weight here to be ultimately poignant, although one is left wishing Kerrigan could have told his story with a little more objectivity.
