HousesitterHousesitter (1992)
2 stars (Good Try)
Social Network, TheSocial Network, The (2010)Aro Favourite
2 stars (Good Try) The story is important enough to be handled by a documentary maker rather than as a dramatisation. A doco. will get closer to the truth, will be shorter and spare the viewer having to look at these characters.
Oh! Mr PorterOh! Mr Porter (1937)Aro Favourite
3 stars (Good Enough) They don't make them like this anymore. There is some wonderful railway action.
TexTex (1982)Recommended
2 stars (Good Try) Meg Tilly provides welcome relief from the young male posturing.
Cable Guy, TheCable Guy, The (1996)
2 stars (Good Try) The plot idea and the screenplay are not too bad.
KesKes (1969)Recommended
4 stars (Very Good) It is set in the days when teachers and adults whacked kids behind the lugholes as a normal course of events. The school scenes are believable with the soccer segment a real bonus. Young David Bradley in his first role is spot on.
Natural, TheNatural, The (1984)
2 stars (Good Try) There is a very good supporting cast and the baseball action is fine but only heaven knows why it needed to exceed 2 hours.
Blu-Ray $24.95
Sight, TheSight, The (2000)
2 stars (Good Try) Not very original but it is worthy of a watch.
Phantom IndiaPhantom India (1969)
4 stars (Very Good) It is valuable archival footage. Malle as commentator is as even handed as could be expected – acknowledging his intrusiveness into other people's lives. Two segments are unforgettable– vulture feeding time and the visit to the school of dance.
Strangers On a TrainStrangers On a Train (1951)Aro Favourite
3 stars (Good Enough) Walker is very good. The plot is interesting and has two memorable scenes.
