Aroview: Arguably the best adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s teen fictions (THE OUTSIDERS etc.), with Matt Dillon giving an early, heartbreaking performance as a troubled youth who has a special connection with horses.
Due to absent parents, Dillon and his older brother must fend for themselves in the grimy Oklahoma backblocks, as money-troubles and the pressures of peers, drugs and stifled dreams build up. The future dir. of RIVER’S EDGE takes rare un-judgemental approach to his young protagonists.

		- 5 stars (Exceptional) Sublime and quite directionless love-letter to the Western genre. Horse-lovers take note. ~The Oxblow Incident
- 2 stars (Good Try) Meg Tilly provides welcome relief from the young male posturing. ~Tubbs
