Kings of the Road (1976)
It drags at times but it is well worth taking the journey. Some of the backdrops are depressing but are authentic. You end up not knowing anything in depth about the 2 characters but the film is long enough to see their relationship develop.
Insider, The (1999)
Crowe is good in this one and Pacino for the most part is restrained which helps. It is a good story but it is a pity about the length.
Why Him? (2016)
It is known as an alternative style of comedy.
Formula 51 (The 51st State) (2001)
The enjoyable plot idea has kind of been done before but this is well worth looking at considering the quality of the cast.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010)
A watchable light family comedy.
Dinner Rush (2000)
Restaurants and their kitchens have been thrashed to death but this screenplay does offer a slightly different slant. Danny Aiello is always worth your time.
Monster Trucks (2016)
If it wasn't for the monsters (who are great) it would be a routine family actioner.
Soul Men (2008)
A strange mixture – I didn't think the comedy was that great especially the adult bits but the musical side was good.
Voices of a Distant Star (2001)
Short and sweet with great visuals.
Fences (2016)
Denzel and Viola are fine as expected. The play adaptation is heavy on dialogue and at times you are bombarded with it giving you no time to digest what they are saying. The set designs and wardrobe are spot on.
