Black and White (2002)
An interesting screenplay is well served by some good performances from David Ngoombujarra and Charles Dance who I don't remember being better. Excellent support from Roy Billing and Chris Haywood add flavour.
Crossroads (2002)
Not sure how Dan Aykroyd found his way into this, maybe he took a wrong turn, but although he looks a little lost and out of place, he does provide some relief.
Comfort and Joy (1984)
A gangster feud but no one gets hurt – no blood spilled only ice cream. Delightful.
Family Stone, The (2005)
A pretty good female ensemble lightens the load somewhat.
Another Woman's Life (2012)
It needed the strength of Juliette's screen personality to make the screenplay watchable.
Chorus, The (Les Choristes) (2004)
Although this kind of plot is quite familiar it has good period details and a fine voice.
Devil's Brigade, The (1968)
The plot idea is familiar.
Flame and Citron (2008)
The first hour and a bit were very strong but the screenplay gradually began to repeat itself. Excellent production values though do help throughout.
Civilization of Maxwell Bright, The (2005)
The screenplay doesn't always work but at least it is different if a bit trying at times. There is a good cameo from Jennifer Tilly and Carol Kane pops in as well.
Fearless (Jet Li's Fearless; Huo Yuan Jia) (2003)
Well made, and the screenplay has its interesting elements but the choreography is its strength.
