It doesn't fulfill its promise – it does some hard work through its set designs, lighting, and wardrobe etc. but at the end of the day, the impression it leaves you with is that it is just another film about gun violence.
An annoying and unnecessary music soundtrack made it hard to make out the commentary but it is an important and still relevant story so will search out her book.
The shooting locations were great but the big shootout scene turned into a comedy and didn't help the serious message of the film. The compulsory casting of Graham Greene added character and talent.
