Little Fugitive (1953): It will have some archival value in that it has 1950's Coney Island as a backdrop.
Complete History of My Sexual Failures, A (2008): It is hardly worth making a documentary about.
Prince of Darkness (1987): Disappointing – the director has done much better.
Actors, The (2003): Unfortunately, Dylan Moran gets annoying in this although there is still Michael Caine and Michael Gambon to fall back on.
Girlhood (2014): KARIDJA has a wonderfully expressive face & needs a minimal script. The screenplay is compact & if it dwells it is not wasting but meaningful. The fights look authentic & the music score is correctly used . All the girls perform well – move over males!
One from the Heart (1982): Has some curiosity value.
Last of the Blonde Bombshells, The (2000): It is likeable without being soppy – there is a fine cast – the music is good and it is not too long.
Equilibrium (2003): It is a very good action film – noisy with plenty of automatic weapons and a better than average body count.
Den of Thieves (2018): The shootouts are a bit over the top and the male posturing in vests adds to the entertainment but the tension when it does build is often lost because the screenplay is not tight enough.
Shape of Water, The (2017): Although the screenplay weakens quite noticeably the set designs are excellent throughout. Richard Jenkins not for the first time gives a professional supporting performance but takes a backseat to asshole Shannon and the perfectly cast Hawkins.
