Wrong Turn (2003)
It is okay but without any real differences to many others of its type.
Vagabond (1985)
The episodic formatting of the screenplay works well. Sandrine Bonnaire is very good especially when she is required to rough it at times and in particular toward the (her) end.
Darkest Hour (2017)
The set designs are well done with the stand out being the opening scene when the opposition is yelling for Chamberlain's resignation. There is little to recommend in the screenplay as it covers a small portion of history that has been thrashed to death.
Turner and Hooch (1989)
The plot idea is fine but Hanks's hysterics wears you out.
Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, The (2008)
The film is its best when he's older (ie. Pitt the Elder, not Pitt the Younger).
Wings of Desire (1987)
Although some of the poetic segments need patience there are some memorable urban location scenes shot in bleak black and white.
Notes on a Scandal (2006)
The screenplay has a strong start but gradually weakens as the scandal with young rubber lips is not convincing. It is well worth watching however for a top–notch performance from Dame Judy.
To Have and Have Not (1944)
The screenplay is weathering the years well but unfortunately so is the whining of Walter Brennan.
Great Balls of Fire (1989)
Considering the difficulty of the role when acting out the musical performances, Quaid doesn't do too bad. Winona is a winner and needless to say so is the soundtrack.
Specialist, The (1994)
James Woods is in it.
