Fahrenheit 11/9 (2018)
Moore's treatment, as with previous ones, is entertaining and informative. To be able to do so over two hours says as much about the amount and type of content that is available as it does about the filmmaker's ability.- DVD $29.95
Barry Lyndon (1975)
The set designs, wardrobe, photography and music score were perfect and they needed to be to prevail over three hours. The supporting cast were interesting and talented and the use of a narrator to help the lead character through worked very well.
My Piece of the Pie (2011)
The screenplay is not helped by some questionable editing and even Karin Viard who is a delight, for the most part, can't save it eventually from going off the rails.
Galaxy Quest (1999)
Rickman, Weaver, and Rockwell have recognised acting talent – it looks like they are enjoying a busman's holiday in signing up for this romp. Very enjoyable.
Source, The (La Source des femmes) (2011)
Without wanting to decry the noble plot the screenplay is a bit too simplistic at times. However, the soundtrack is excellent as is the beautiful photography of the locations.
Future, The (2011)
Miranda July is terrific and so is the sparse script. The screenplay is unusual and doesn't overstay its welcome.
Masque of the Red Death (1964)
The film is dependant on Vincent Price's central performance which he serves up with an extra helping of relish.
Chico & Rita (Chico and Rita) (2010)
The screenplay didn't inspire but the animation was terrific. The colours were soft and easy on the eye and the drawing of the exteriors, in particular, showed an attention to detail.
Teen Titans Go! To the Movies (2018)
Noisy but enjoyable.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days (2012)
Watchable but the material is not particularly strong.
