Anna Karenina (2012): The screenplay had some great Stoppard touches and the wardrobe people had a field day.
Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946): A very competent screenplay is well performed by veterans Stanwyck and Heflin with good support from Scott and Douglas who are at the start of their careers.
Broken Circle Breakdown, The (2013): The musical segments were terrific but some of the drama was reduced to melodrama and was a negative.
Bookshop, The (2017): Mortimer, Nighy, and Clarkson is a very appealing cast. The screenplay is fine.
Wiener-Dog (2016): The segments were of varying interest.
Killing of a Sacred Deer, The (2017): It is different and although it tries to unsettle its audience it is worth a try.; DVD $29.95
Hate U Give, The (2018): There are no surprises in the screenplay and it offers little that is new.
La Jetee (1962): Needless to say, this plot idea will never date but will stay relevant.
Cold Pursuit (2018): Another father revenge film. Some of the violence works as a black comedy but some of it is a bit tasteless. Liam has notched up quite an impressive body count by now from that part of his career playing an avenger.
Happy Feet 2 (2011): It is hard to dislike.
