Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The (1967)
In a word, brilliant. Beautiful scenery, great performances, an incredible score and a spectacular ending are among the many things that make this a landmark of the genre, as well as films in general.
Inglourious Basterds (Inglorious Bastards) (2009)
Basterds is relatively free of the Tarantino clichè of over–indulgent film–geekiness and what little there is is disguised as period detail, making this by far the most enjoyable of his films to date. Waltz is also sublime.
