An intelligent script makes the most of the premise which puts a refreshing, ultra-modern spin on rom-com tropes, while leads Maren Eggert and English heartthrob Dan Stevens (in a German-speaking role) are perfectly cast. The film puts paid to the mythical notion that the Germans don’t do comedy well.

5 stars (Exceptional) Maybe my favourite movie of 2021, this was funnier and more charming than I expected while actually mining new material from the well-worn premise of "what's the difference between human and machine?" ~Pearce
5 stars (Exceptional) The nature of love. Strangely like a real affair, which surges forward & back, like the tide. Brilliant acting & sets. Gradually becomes increasingly complex & sophisticated. Clever touches e.g. snoring. Cigarettes a bit passe!Recommended ~Anon
