Shrek 2
Aroview: The cranky beast with a heart of gold returns to the big screen in this sequel to the computer-animated smash hit, here coping with the in-laws after marrying Princess Fiona.
Following firmly in the footsteps of the first with a fast-paced blend of fairytale and movie in-jokes, wacky characters and frequent songs, though without quite the narrative savvy. Voices again by Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz, though this time Rupert Everett (Prince Charming) and Antonio Banderas (Puss in Boots) almost steal the show. Also with John Cleese, Julie Andrews, Jennifer Saunders, and Larry King.

5 stars (Exceptional) Arguably just as good as the first, although not as original, Shrek 2 pulls in more delightful characters and keeps the jokes rolling for all ages. Still the highest-grossing Shrek, and the 2nd-highest grossing animation ever (2nd now to Toy story 3). ~Tom H
3 stars (Good Enough) Shrek 2 follows on nicely from the first, as the newly married Shrek meets the in-laws. Another fabulous soundtrack, with the introduction of new characters, it's a good enough sequel - perhaps just not as memorable as the original. ~GenXGirl
