Total Recall (2012)
Interesting story suffers because of the surfeit of action sequences. At its best during the Blade Runner street scenes.
Royal, The (TV Series) (2003)
Good mixture of drama, soap and comedy led by Bill Maynard. Back–grounded by some good pop music.
Beginners (2011)
Nothing happens but Christopher Plummer makes it worthwhile.
Surviving Picasso (1997)
Hopkins enjoys himself – other cast not given the chance to compete with him especially Joan and Joss with only small parts. Story concentrates on his womanising and we are largely spared the crap about the abstract being art.
Mrs. Brown's Boys (TV Series) (2011)
Swearing shouldn\'t be necessary in comedy. Canned laughter – the script writer (self inflicted) shouldn\'t have to compete with this unnecessary noise – it distracts from any comedic moments.Main character influenced by the great Les Dawson.
Pride and the Passion, The (1957)
Sinatra uses a funny voice but on the positive side we are spared his singing.
Little White Lies (Les petits mouchoirs) (2010)
When the characters spend half the film kissing everyone else there is not much hope.
Pacific, The (TV Series) (2010)
Boring.
Albert Nobbs (2011)
Terrific props. The film dies when Pauline Collins is not in the scene although Janet McTeer again impressive.
Band of Brothers (TV Series) (2001)
No treatment in depth. Some good bits but it wouldn\'t matter if you missed an occasional couple of hours every now and then.
