You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010)
Inconsequential. The quality cast deserve better.
Town, The (2010)
Affleck and Renner dominate the screen time so there is little chance to see any acting. Postlethwaite and Cooper are wasted although Hall and Hamm make the most of their chances. Ridiculous climatic shoot out.
Bone Collector, The (1999)
Denzel does an Ironside imitation.
In Their Skin (Replicas) (2012)
The first half was fine but one home invasion movie is much like the rest and it ultimately failed to hold attention.
Grand Illusion (La Grande Illusion) (1937)
The story weakens slightly after the escape in the farmhouse scenes but still a wonderful film. It examines the chivalrous relationships of some warring enemy officers in 1914.Based on fact according to Renoir.
Party's Over, The (1965)
Read the BFI booklet accompanying the film describing the film\'s problems with the censors – it was made in 1963 but could only be released in 1965 in a version which Guy Hamilton disowned. The 1963 pre–release version is available.
Evil Dead (2013)
Unless its a classic one thing a horror movie needs is humour to distinguish itself within the genre. This one lacks it in spades.
Warriors of Heaven and Earth (Tian di ying xiong) (2003)
If you don\'t like death in every scene don\'t despair just admire the magnificent desert.
Devil's Advocate, The (1997)
Too long and Reeves out of his depth but who wouldn\'t be with Pacino playing Pacino. Jeffrey Jones holds his own though and Charlize shows her ability to significantly change character. Best are the NY street shots.Deleted scenes commentary worthwhile.
No (2012)
As the right wing violence is already well documented the film rightly does not overdo this aspect. It cleverly concentrates on the hypocritical advertising industry. A reasonable effort at giving a balanced account considering everything that happened.
