Blade Runner (1982): The Directors Cut – The rainy street scenes are masterful.; DVD ~~$20~~ $15, ~~$25~~ $18.75
Mr. Pip (2012): It is a good reminder of the Bougainville civil war but it also has a strong fantasy thread that could have warranted a screenplay of its own. Authenticity & fantasy rubbing shoulders keep things interesting & are helped by two good lead performances.
Woman in Black, The (2012): The scariest moments were when the director didn't use loud sound effects. The set designs were very good.
Safety Not Guaranteed (2012): Aubrey Piaza is very good but the rest is pretty humdrum.
Wild Target (2010): Nothing wrong with the casting and not a waste of time but it could have been better. Black comedies operate on a thin line.
Judas and The Black Messiah (2021): It is a worthy addition to the canon of racial injustice.
Quartet (2012): Although the screenplay only passes muster the casting is sublime.; DVD ~~$20~~ $15
Silver Brumby, The (1992): The story offers no surprises but it is shot on good location and overall is good family entertainment.
Martha: A Picture Story (2019): One thing I did like about her was her respect for her subject – asking permission first and not being intrusive. The documentary includes some wonderful 70s N York location shooting.
Trip to Greece, The (2020): It is just as good as its predecessors in the series.; DVD $29.95
