Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)
Brave film making for its day and will stand the test of time. The boys are forgettable and only fill the gaps for Go Get Them Jennifer and Wise for Her Age Phoebe – both are great.
Telstar (Telstar: The Joe Meek Story) (2008)
Excellent performance by Con O'Neill – it is not an easy watch.
Scorpion King, The (2002)
Steven Brand is an excellent baddie – Bernard Hill is in the cast adding a bit of quality. Not much SF. mainly mayhem.
From the Earth to the Moon (TV Series) (1998)
After having my usual moan about why dramatise when there are documentaries available – the series is watchable even though the subject has been thrashed to death.
RED 2 (2013)
Smiling and making a joke whilst killing someone seems to be the norm (007 did it rather well) but when its done by class actors (Hopkins and Mirren– who should'nt be in the film in the first place) & they excel in it – it becomes distasteful.
Lovelace (2013)
Amanda S does well in a role that must have taken a bit of courage to undertake. The film doesn't really work but if it brings attention to the arseholes that ripped her off all well and good.
Le Chef (Comme un chef) (2012)
Yet another cooking film with all the snobbishness that goes with it. Inconsequential but the leads make it watchable. Best segment is the opening credits.
Bounce (2001)
Middle of the road effort from middle class characters – in other words not very interesting.
American Violet (2008)
Sincere and made for the right reasons. Solid casting and acting.
Luella Miller (2005)
Sara Wiseman impressive. I thought the ending was well done – something a lot of film makers struggle with.
