Payback (1998)
Mel does well. Some good location shooting and story telling.
Utopia (TV Series) (2013)
Neil Maskell is impressive with great support from old hands Geraldine James,Stephen Rea and James Fox.The story is complicated but compelling. All the characters are oddballs.
Astronaut's Wife, The (1999)
Doesn't work as well as it could considering the worthwhile plot and the two leads it has casted.
Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999)
Some genuine funny moments which is not typical of modern comedies from this part of the world.
Super (2010)
Wilson is very good but when Page arrives on the scene everything goes up to the next level.
Falling Down (1993)
After an excellent opening segment it would have helped if it had restrained itself a little instead of becoming too fanciful.
American History X (1998)
Preachy. Give it a miss if you are not a Norton fan – possibly his best role and performance.
Break-Up, The (2006)
If you can put up with a thousand words a minute from V V then this will have some appeal to those tired of paint by numbers rom coms. Highlight is a bit piece from the great Judy Davis.
Collateral (2004)
Might have benefited from better casting in the lead roles.Failed to hold attention. Mark Ruffalo is fine in support. Some very good outside location shooting accompanied by an appropriate sound track.
What Lies Beneath (2000)
I was having doubts of the abilities of the two leads during the film but both handled the double climax surprisingly well.
