Man of a Thousand Faces (1957): Flat performance from Cagney – I'm sure Chaney was more interesting than this.
Invisible Man Returns, The (1940): They don't make them like this anymore.Short and simple.
Miracle On 34th Street (1994): Father Christmas plays Richard Attenborough. Most of the sentimental traps are avoided.
Tenderness (2008): Restrained performance from Crowe and we are all the better for it.
Fury (1936): Solid screenplay.There are some Fritz Lang moments to be admired.
Pineapple Express (2008): Watchable in parts but you might get like me after a while and start cheering for Rosie Perez.
Sweet Vengeance (2013): The set design is well done in portraying the town and there are some good location shots. Jason Isaacs does well. What it needed to do was to have less over the top characters (one would have sufficed) and reduce the body count by 10 or so.
K19 - Widowmaker (2002): Silly title and casting of an american in charge of a Russian sub. Poor accents.Good props – the submarine looks real.
Rocker, The (2008): Couldn't take too much of Wilson – he's annoying in this. Film covers familiar ground.
Hustle and Flow (2005): Has a rough edge that's not over the top. Great performances from Terrence Howard and Taryn Manning.
