American Hustle (2013): Amy Adams is okay but the rest of the cast are boring.
Private Peaceful (2012): Depicts the period very well – Richard Griffiths in good form.John Lynch excellent.
Away We Go (2009): Krasinski got up my nose with his embarrassing behaviour & he detracted from the movie. Good soundtrack.
Since You Went Away (1944): Goes on forever but without being boring – excellent cast.
Open Road, The (2009): At its best when Bridges on camera – Harry Dean S underused.
Get Over It (2001): Good opening credits. Its best bits are better than average for this genre. Not too long.
Romeo and Juliet: A Love Song (2013): Didn't really need another rendition or another version. Some of the supporting characters okay.
Book Thief, The (2013): Good production values – dramatisation of a well documented period – looks to have been made with the oscars in mind.
Village, The (TV Series) (2013): Series 1: Wonderfully bleak – no reason not to believe it is a reasonable depiction of village life during this period.
Haunted (1995): Better than most for its type – good production values.Leads are okay but there is some quality in the support cast in Anna Massey plus John Gielgud and Maggie Smith pop in for a while. Didn't need the romance bits.
