Dr. Dolittle (1967)
There are some musical segments and scenes that work well but there are also others that don't. A more compact screenplay should have been prescribed.
Molokai - The Story of Father Damien (1999)
A story of impressive personal courage that is well worth telling. The casting is impressive, there are some beautiful shooting locations, and the makeup department does a great job.
Forever Young (1993)- Other than Jamie Lee Curtis there is nothing else to recommend in this.
Chocolat (1988)
The scenes between the house boy Protee & young France are beautifully done. Although the screenplay has some untidiness once the number of characters increases its depiction of a racist society toward the end of colonialism is telling in a low key way. - Poster (F) $7.95
Tetsuo II: Body Hammer (1991)
- I didn't feel much of a blow but there are some good surprising elements to it.
Place Beyond the Pines, The (2012)- The plot idea is not fresh but the writing is just good enough to survive the running time. Gosling ensures his segment is the strongest and Mendelsohn and Liotta are hard to ignore.
Booksellers, The (2019)- All books can be collected traded and loved but the rare ones are those you don't put your coffee cup on (and don't have turned down pages).

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (2009)- It at least tries to be different and is never boring. The makeup people do a great job.
Jack Goes Boating (2010)- It is okay but it never really leaves safe ground and hardly pushes someone with the talent of PS Hoffman.
Corpus Christi (2019)- It starts off okay but once the single joke scenario kicks in it gets repetitive and the endless church services are a real turn off.
