Malkovich looks threatening but Cage's drawl gets irritating after a few seconds (I hope for his family's sake he doesn't take it home). After an okay/expensive climax it gets soppy.
Episodic – Colin Blakely and Liza M are fine the latter being a nice surprise but the best moments are with the excellent Billie Whitelaw. Some "nostalgic" urban northern locations (the slums on their last legs) and a surreal finish.
One of the more clumsier titles. The story is light entertainment but is well put together and acted. Its main drawback is that there is not enough in it for 2 hours – it probably has a character too many.
