Pixels (2015)
The human element of the story is only so so but the special effects are very good and enjoyable and make it worthwhile.
Nancy Drew (2007)
Good production values of a good story – Emma Roberts plays the lead with assurance. 
Ricki and the Flash (2015)- The musical segments on the whole are well done but the total product doesn't quite work out. Having said that its worth watching it for Meryl's performance – she takes on the role of a rockin' grandma like a duck to water.
Imitation Game, The (2014)
- The set designs/periodic props etc are quality. The casting is well done. The early parts of the film are the best before it seems to lose its way and ends up not doing justice to either Turing or the code breaking (watch the Bletchley Circle).
San Andreas (2015)- Unimaginative plot and I didn't think some of the special effects were all that good – they looked like special effects. The acting was ordinary and we didn't need another intense performance from Giamatti.
Barney's Great Adventure (1997)- Proof that you don't need to spend a lot of money to create a terrific character.
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (2014)- The comedy is noisy and forced and wears thin after a short while.
Dillinger is Dead (1969)
As Michel Piccoli says you will either love it or hate it.
Hellboy 2: The Golden Army (2008)- The violence doesn't dominate which is unusual for this kind of film – there is some time for humour and the characters in the main are colourful & well done.
Piglet's Big Movie (2003)- Lovely characters and no fuss animation make it ideal for young family members.
