The plot scenario is fine but both its delivery and the characters failed to hold attention. Some good state of the art special effects help. Never seen Kate W so flat – maybe miscast.
Some good episodes but its overambitious to expect 26 film directors to produce a watchable two hours – it would have been better to halve the alphabet with slightly longer episodes to come in at 90 mins.
Its seems to be impossible to make a film involving Costner in under 2 hours. At least this one is about a sport that hasn't been thrashed to death on screen. A feel good film.
Its a Ken Russell film. Something "happens" in every scene. The set designs are wonderful and vary from rich to stark. The supporting cast include some interesting casting choices – from the distinctive Murray Melvin to the out of character Brian Murphy
The animals are excellent – the props department must have spent hours putting them together – there is not a stitch in sight – seamless. However they are not that interesting to fill 2 hrs and neither are the humans. Give me King Kong of 1933.
The story fails to maintain the interest but there is always Morgan Freeman and the never boring Allison Janney and Pruitt Taylor Vince in small parts to add some interest.
