Except for some story back filling scenes involving Andrews & Cummings there is little respite from the murkiness. Andrews acts a know all prig but thankfully doesn't get all his own way. There is a very good British supporting cast to add character.
Toni Collette and Ioan Gruffudd work well together. The plot gets a bit soppy in a couple of places but there is enough good stuff for it to be worthwhile.
Top performances from Kate and Alan Alda with worthy support from Floyd Abrams and Vera Farmiga. The screenplay is relatively low key and avoids the traps. Great ending.
I'd never heard Amy sing before & I haven't missed anything in that regard. Bit surprised when she was described as the greatest etc. so didn't take anything said about her singing too seriously after that. Another one who had a drug problem though.
It has my favourite baddie Robert Wilke (out of character) but it would have benefited from more character actors. A good plot with the laughable bull ring scenario where spectators view the gunfight in direct line of fire – must have got the cheap seats.
