What Price Glory? (1952)
3 stars (Good Enough) A funny animal in some ways. The soldiers behave like cowboys and the screenplay is a mixture of war, comedy, and music. Entertaining enough, however.
Good Morning, VietnamGood Morning, Vietnam (1987)Recommended
3 stars (Good Enough) A good plot idea with a very good soundtrack. The first half of the screenplay is the best.
PersuasionPersuasion (2007)
3 stars (Good Enough) Sally saves script writers time with her facial expressions. Very well produced without going overboard.
Blood For DustBlood For Dust (2023)Recommended
2 stars (Good Try) I think they made a genuine attempt to put some intelligence in the script to set it apart from the many others in the genre.
DVD $29.95 | Blu-Ray $34.95
End Of The SpearEnd Of The Spear (2005)
2 stars (Good Try) You end up getting the point.
Smart People Smart People (2008)
2 stars (Good Try) A good female cast. A beard covers part of Quaid's smirk which helps.
Lean On MeLean On Me (1989)Recommended
2 stars (Good Try) One of a number of classroom dramas. Freeman yells at everyone from start to finish, others are yelling and it becomes a yellathon.
Flight of the NavigatorFlight of the Navigator (1986)
3 stars (Good Enough) The kid got a bit screechy at times but the screenplay is intelligent and entertaining.
AtanarjuatAtanarjuat (The Fast Runner) (2001)Aro Favourite
3 stars (Good Enough) The length of the screenplay requires patience, but if slow, is never boring, and there is the location to admire plus an interesting soundtrack.
DVD $29.95 $15
LadyhawkeLadyhawke (1985)
2 stars (Good Try) Forty years on it is not ageing too well, particularly for its lengthy running time.
