Elf (2003): It is hard to dislike – it has some good comedy but just as importantly an excellent supporting cast.
Half Nelson (2006): It is an effective low key anti drug message.; DVD ~~$24.95~~ $19.95
Banger Sisters, The (2002): Some of it works some of it doesn't but the casting makes it an attraction.
Fighting Sullivans, The (1944): Anne Baxter and Thomas Mitchell give fine performances. It has a soppy ending and undoes what goes before.
Christmas with the Kranks (2004): A film with "Christmas" in the title that is worth watching. Jamie Lee is a delight and she and Allen work well off each other. A talented support cast includes Dan Aykroyd and Emmet Walsh. A well written screenplay.
Gaslight (1944): Ingrid is radiant in the beautiful black and white photography aided by the skillful use of light and shadow. Angela Lansbury's film debut.
Alien vs. Predator (AVP) (2004): It is noisy and not very original but what is worth complimenting is the work of the creature make–up artists.
Patriots Day (2016): Another commercial dramatisation of a real life tragedy.
Tootsie (1982): The great cast keeps the interest going long after the plot idea wears thin.
Life of Brian (Monty Python's Life of Brian) (1979): Wonderfully offensive.
