Royal Night Out, A (2015)
They do well to stretch the screenplay to feature length. The period settings and wardrobe are commendable.
Jagged Edge (1985)
The screenplay is not convincing and neither is the love affair on which it depends.
Dunkirk (1958)
It takes a while to reach the evacuation scenes but they are worth waiting for. There is some flag waving and propaganda but there is also a genuine attempt to show the less glamorous side such as the cock ups and the panicking troops.
Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame (2010)
There are some good set designs and special effects but the screenplay would have been better losing half an hour.
Lego Batman Movie, The (2017)
It is okay but you can only do so much with Lego characters and accordingly it is too long.
A Man Called Horse (1970)
The screenplay is uneven and runs out of steam toward the end but at least it is refreshingly different.
Hangover, The: Part 3 (2013)
A big comedown from the original in the series.
Craft, The (1996)
The first half is quite promising but in the end fails to deliver.
What Happens in Vegas (2008)
The old material is given some life by an energetic performance from Cameron.
Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008)
The opening scenes were fine but then as soon as the swords started flashing and the arrows flying it was downhill – it was then indistinguishable from a million other action films.
