Passion (2012)
It is difficult to empathise with these characters but Noomi's performance makes it worthwhile to some degree.
Misfits, The (1961)
The solid screenplay is served well by the excellent casting.rn
Some Like It Hot (1959)
There is an excellent early police chase scene followed by enough good moments to maintain interest over the two hours.
Pandorum (2009)
It follows a familiar path of astronauts being attacked in their spaceship but there has been some good creative work put into the creatures.
Kick-Ass (2010)
It is a good plot idea and the screenplay has some good segments involving Mark Strong and young Chloe but it really needed to be a bit shorter.
Top of the Lake: China Girl (2017)
It starts off very well with a promising screenplay but this weakens out before the end. The highlight is an interesting relationship between the three police characters.
Maudie (2016)
Well done to the filmmakers for taking a low key approach, to the casting director, the wardrobe people, the location shooting and for the musical score.
X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
Much of the same and the only real highlight for me is Michael Fassbender except for the special effects and make–up teams doing their usual good job.
Of Horses and Men (2013)
Most of the screenplay is shot in the beautiful outdoors. It is cold to watch and it must have been a difficult film to make particularly when half the cast is equine. The cadence of horse with music is beautifully captured.
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964)
It is pretty bad but any cult library would be incomplete without it.
