Leatherface (2017): The violence is in excess and leads to ineffectiveness but the period production details are well done.
Goodbye Pork Pie (1981): A likeable comedy and for Kiwis the exteriors are pure nostalgia.; DVD ~~$20~~ $15
Freedom Writers (2007): The film has a good message but viewing wise Hilary does too good a job on the kids.
Split (2016): If you want to see a decent treatment of multiple personality disorder watch "Three Faces of Eve" (1957). What is more, it does the job in 25 minutes less than this one.
Finding Fela (2014): A complicated man & a gifted musician. It touches on the political background in Nigeria – Fela needed to be brave to stand up against the Government. Musically – what a beat! and the dancing is raw.
Color Purple, The (The Colour Purple) (1985): Whoopi is fine throughout but the film gets less and less interesting after a promising start.
Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer (2016)
Flashback (1990): A likeable plot with Kiefer doing well mixing it with Hopper who looks to be enjoying himself.
Plague Dogs, The (1982): It has some memorable moments.
Monster, The (2016): It is a shriek from start to finish but not much else other than a monster with a sore head.
