Don't Think Twice (2016)
I really don't know what this was about if it was about anything.
Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014)
There is some good acting talent sitting around underused and looking out of place.
Phoenix (2014)
Nina Hoss is very good and does well to survive a screenplay that creaks and groans struggling with plausibility.
Winstanley (1975)
I understand Jerome Willis is the only professional actor used and that the film was made on a low budget. But good on 'em – its screenplay has made me reach for the history books.
Devil and Miss Jones, The (1941)
It has a very good screenplay but it falls a bit flat when Coburn is not on screen.
La Belle Saison (Summertime) (2015)
Cécile de France is very good but the screenplay after an energetic first half hour concerning bolshie females takes a romantic right turn and never recovers.
Kiss the Girls (1997)
The screenplay is watchable but it takes a while and needs Morgan Freeman to keep the interest up.
How Much Does Your Building Weigh, Mr Foster? (2010)
Better than most documentaries about architects.
Last of England, The (1988)
It is not a clone (which is worth a *). It is hard work but I watched it a second time with commentary which helped. More viewings I am sure will offer more insights.
Before Sunset (2004)
They are an odd couple – Delpy and the camera are made for each other but Hawke looks like he's been dropped off from a spaceship. However, both give as good as they get in the talking department.
