Silk (2007)
Nice to look at but Michael Pitt doesn't have much life about him nor much of anything else for that matter. The soundtrack and the voice over were in regular competition and neither came out the winner.
Celebration, The (Festen) (1999)
Aka "The Happy Family".
Russia House, The (1990)
It wasn't that easy to hear what Michelle was saying because of her accent but the writing was good and the casting was of the expected quality.
Major Payne (1995)
An uneven comedy, but there are some better segments, that will make it worth a try.
Bet, The (2007)
The screenplay has little new material. The characters deserve each other and do not resemble a typical Australian – one actually plays polo.
Kinky Boots (2005)
The screenplay handles the sweet better than the bitter and although it takes a dip it does recover for the end.
Fifth Estate, The (5ifth Estate, The) (2013)
A reasonable addition to the WikiLeaks genre.
Four Musketeers, The (1973)
The comedy plot idea is getting a bit stale by this stage but there is enough character in the casting to maintain the interest.
Eight Men Out (1989)
The screenplay was solid and the story, interesting. Enjoyed the period details for e.g. the advertising hoardings at the ballpark.
Guru, The (2002)
The screenplay gets a bit soppy at times but the soundtrack and musical segments are worthwhile.
