Mexican, The (2000)
The screenplay doesn't work overall and is too long as it struggles to find an ending. A very good supporting cast helps, however.
Turning Tide (2013)
Another yachting drama. I found some relief by watching the waves even those inserted by the studio later.
Gold (2021)
The makeup people do a good job. The screenplay is best seen with a bottle of water handy.
Only the Animals (Seules les bêtes) (2019)
Bonnard's character (the one with the nose) just wasn't believable. Some segments of the sliced up screenplay were more watchable than others.
Ma Nuit Chez Maud (My Night at Maud's / My Night with Maud) (1969)
A talkie but there are some street scenes that provide some relief.
Strange Brew (1983)
Uneven but the pair is hard to dislike.
Survive Style 5+ (2004)
I'm still not sure whether it is better to watch this sober or completely plastered.
Diamond 13 (2009)
Depardieu provides some interest but the screenplay is not memorable.
Secret in Their Eyes, The (El Secreto de sus Ojos) (2009)
Although the screenplay weakens slightly the first 90 minutes are strong with the highlight being the interaction between Soledad Villamil, Guillermo Francella, and the consistent Ricardo Darín.
A Home at the End of the World (2004)
A bit too much hugging and kissing but it does have other segments that make it worthwhile.
