Ready Player One (2018): I lost interest after a couple of minutes but the special effects team did okay.
Above Us the Waves (1955): An excellent cast does justice to this solid drama.
New York, New York (1977): The musical numbers aren't too bad.
Ants on a Shrimp: Noma in Tokyo (2016): Another cooking documentary but thankfully it is not too long.
Thumbelina (1994): The animation style still stands up well 25 years on.
Child in Time, The (2017): A good cast and a watchable screenplay but nothing above average.
Finding Neverland (2004): Excellent production values but at times the film strangely lacks energy which is strange because Winslet and Depp are in most scenes.
Winter Sleep (2014): Very heavy on dialogue which slows the screenplay to a crawl. As most of the talking is done indoors it is a relief when there is an escape to the beautiful outdoor locations.; DVD $29.95
Sanjuro (1962): Mifune leads his 9 stooges through for the most part a light–hearted screenplay. There is plenty of aggressive male posturing but it only adds to the comedy.
Escape from L.A. (1996): There is nothing new on offer but the street scenes are well done.
