Victoria (2015)
The screenplay takes a long time to get going and a long time to wind up – in between there is some action with a little suspense. Overall however the screenplay seems to be long for the sake of being long and without any other purpose.
Lion King, The (1994)
Excellent entertainment and it still compares well with the best of animated films 25 years on.
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (1991)
Not too bad – the twin special effects are well done.
What Women Want (2000)
Rom/coms need to be short and snappy – not two hours long. Gibson is in every scene and this doesn't help but the talented Helen Hunt eases the pain as does the underused and wasted Marisa Tomei.
Alamo, The (2004)
The wardrobe department does a great job & not just with the resplendent Mexicans. There is quite a bit of pontificating & manly staring into another man's eyes which if reduced could have finished things up much sooner. The final scene is Hollywood crap
Jailhouse Rock (1957)
The musical numbers improve during the film and are worth waiting for.
Detective Story (1951)
There is plenty of dramatic acting which in the confined space of the precinct gets overbearing and becomes no different to a shouting match.
Cove, The (2009)
How do you say "Bastards!" in Japanese?
Blown Away (1994)
This film has been blown up rather than the viewer being blown away.
Veronica Guerin (2003)
An excellent cast does justice to a solid if at times raw screenplay.
