Hud (1963)
A very capable cast do justice to the strong screenplay which is also enhanced by some beautiful black and white photography.
Enforcer, The (1950)
A good supporting cast which includes Zero Mostel and Everett Sloane helps keep the interest up.
And Then There Were None (Mini-series) (2015)
It didn't need to be a mini–series and therefore take so long to knock the characters off.
Comes a Bright Day (2012)
Plays like a play but it is not very well acted (or the actors are not very well directed).
Horror of Hammer, The
From a studio that has established a major presence in the horror genre.
Two Days, One Night (2014)
The basic plot idea is quite simple but the excellent screenplay adds a couple of extra layers. To make it work however, and to avoid over sentimentality it needed a performance from someone with the class of Marion Cotillard and she delivers in spades.
Meek's Cutoff (2010)
Michelle Williams gets the wagon train through despite the hindrance of the character who had been kicked out of ZZ Top. The desert landscapes are beautifully photographed and the wardrobe and props department have done a good job.
Stir of Echoes (1999)
A hysterical performance from Bacon doesn't give the screenplay much of a chance.
Skyscraper (2018)
It provides employment for people I suppose.
Cruel Intentions (1999)
Seedy in an infantile way. The female members of the cast deserved better.
