American Way, The (Riders of the Storm) (1986)
The plot idea is probably timeless. Hopper and Pollard together are worth the price of admission and overall it is hard to dislike.
Scarlet Letter, The (1995)
The casting and production values are very good but the screenplay is slow – they must have had mail problems back then too.
Murder On Flight 502 (1975)
Serviceable drama with a serviceable cast.
Chappaquiddick (2017)
As far as dramatisations of true events go this one does a serviceable job sticking to the main issues and not being sidetracked by subplots for commercial reasons. File under "Crime".
Get to Know Your Rabbit (1972)
Bit of an oddball that doesn't quite follow through on the promising early scenes but it is worth the watch.
Crooked House (2017)
The screenplay wasn't engaging but the wardrobe and set design teams did a good job.
Funny Games (1997)
Seen this two or three times now without liking it but I suppose that is a credit to the filmmaker.
71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance (1994)
No fragment is surprising – that even senseless killings are part of life today. The fragments about the adopted girl & the immigrant boy, however, do test the emotions (plus looking at Michael Jackson's face) even if the killings do not.
Benny's Video (1992)
An original screenplay is its strength – it also carries a message.
Blindspot (TV Series) (2015)
Series 1: It is very long.
