Army of Crime, The (2009)
The production values were excellent but the screenplay was mainstream.
Camelot (1967)
I don't think it could make up its mind what it wanted to be.
Sin Nombre (Without Name) (2008)
There is an unnecessary romantic subplot but mostly the train ride keeps things moving.
Firestarter (1984)
Considering the cast it was disappointing.
Adrift (2018)
It is not unusual for boats to go adrift and they have been dramatised before so it is hard to create tension or even interest in this kind of screenplay.
Greatest Showman, The (2017)
The tunes aren't tuneful but a couple of the ensemble dance numbers aren't too bad. Well done to the wardrobe and set design teams and the photography is easy on the eye.
First Strike (1996)
Without wanting to disparage Jackie's stunt work – if this was your first Jackie Chan stunt film you might be pretty impressed. There are better films of his work around, however.
Dunston Checks In (1995)
Good family entertainment except for the screechy kid.
Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool (2017)
A Fistful of Dynamite (Duck, You Sucker!) (1971)
45 years on it hasn't aged well. There are some good segments that have weathered okay but you need patience as they appear periodically in a long film. The musical score is the exception and is timeless.
