It is not unusual for boats to go adrift and they have been dramatised before so it is hard to create tension or even interest in this kind of screenplay.
The tunes aren't tuneful but a couple of the ensemble dance numbers aren't too bad. Well done to the wardrobe and set design teams and the photography is easy on the eye.
Without wanting to disparage Jackie's stunt work – if this was your first Jackie Chan stunt film you might be pretty impressed. There are better films of his work around, however.
45 years on it hasn't aged well. There are some good segments that have weathered okay but you need patience as they appear periodically in a long film. The musical score is the exception and is timeless.
