Man Who Invented Christmas, The (2017)
The screenplay is more interesting than great but the production values do the job and there is some excellence in the supporting cast.
Cleo from 5 to 7 (1962)
- The black and white photography is outstanding. The street scenes are the other strength – there is no attempt by the director to control space or people – Naturellement!
Thinner (1997)
The plot idea is fine and the screenplay whilst not great has its moments.
Gospel According to Andre, The (2017)- Yet another fashion documentary with the obligatory appearances by the facelift crowd.
Stay (2005)- An overcomplicated and ambitious piece of storytelling. It might make more sense on another day.
Dig! (2004)
- It was hard to assess what their music was like from the short segments played but their story was interesting enough.

Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants (2013)
The animation looked faultless and the characters were well thought out.- Blu-Ray $24.95
Housebound (2014)- Although it does well to breathe a bit of life into this tired genre it is a shade too long and loses some of its effectiveness after a good beginning. The performances of Morgana O'Reilly and Rima Te Wiata are the highlight.
Beguiled, The (2017)- The opening scene photography is outstanding and is the highlight of the film. The screenplay is largely predictable and it plays like a play, unfortunately.
Blade 2 (2002)- If you enjoyed the first one then this one should appeal also.
